“A man’s body may grow old, but inside, his spirit can still be as young and as restless as ever.”
– Garth Secondhand Lions
I don’t consider myself to be old, but I am at that point where I start noticing things that used to come easy to me, aren’t so easy anymore. I am no Hub, but I empathize with him from time to time. I feel like the movie Secondhand Lions captures this concept perfectly and does so in an entertaining and inspiring way.
Secondhand Lions is full of fantastic quotes and inspirational or motivational philosophies. Even if you are incapable of seeing it or don’t care to, it is still one of the better movies ever made. It is full of comedy, drama, suspense, a little mystery, and even some action sequences. The cast is top notch and whoever wrote the script absolutely nailed it.
I have had a fairly eventful life. I have traveled, faced danger, endured hardship, and there are times when I am afraid that I didn’t do enough or should have done more. When I watch this movie, I am reminded that I still have plenty of time left. All I need, all anyone needs, is the will to act.
