Inspiration of the Day #84

“Don’t worry. Nobody dies in this story. They just get really big boo-boos.”
– Narrator (George of the Jungle)

Before you roll your eyes, hear me out. I love serious, intellectual, dramatic, action packed, adventurous, motivational and inspirational movies, but you can get a lot of that from different places. Or, from places that you might not expect. Maybe you weren’t even looking. I would argue that George of the Jungle is one of these places.

George of the Jungle seems like just another spoof and you wouldn’t be entirely wrong. Still, it was a fun, clean, entertaining movie that provided a light and easy going escape from whatever might be bumming you out for an hour and a half. The comedy was perfect and understandable and there were still lessons that could be extracted from its contents.

What lessons could anyone learn from George of the Jungle? How about you don’t need to be the head of an evil conglomerate or the dictator of a hostile regime to be a dick? There are good people and there are bad people and then there is everyone in between. My favorite lesson; no situation can’t be made lighter with some laughter.

George of the Jungle wasn’t just about serious issues, though they are technically more serious than anyone might care to admit. It was about letting loose and having a nice hearty laugh. Do yourself a favor and give this movie a watch. It is OK to laugh. You don’t need permission from anyone, but if you feel you do, here it is. Have a laugh.
