Inspiration of the Day #93

“It’s not who I am underneath, but what I do that defines me.”
– Bruce Wayne (Batman Begins)

I grew up loving Batman and while yes, there have been some negative views regarding certain Batman actors in the past, it is still one of the coolest franchises around. Michael Keaton is one of the most beloved to fill the role, but I would argue that Christian Bale in Batman Begins should hold the number one for favorites.

Batman Begins was an entirely new view into the world of Batman and I fell in love with it almost instantly. For many reasons, not just the intense fight sequences. This was my first experience with a deeper dive into Batman’s past and it was interesting to see the journey that created the masked crusader.

What I loved most was that Batman Begins didn’t just rely on intense fights and cool gadgets to stop the bad guys. This was the first time that a deeper strategy and intellect played a crucial role in protecting the streets and getting the most dangerous players off the chess board. You also can’t go wrong with a movie including Gary Oldman, Liam Neeson, Morgan Freeman, Michael Caine, and the epic actor and actress list continues.

Batman Begins wasn’t just about the physical fight against evil. It was about the bigger picture of fighting crime. Crime wasn’t just one man or woman being responsible for the overall disease. It was negatively influenced human nature. Bruce Wayne had to learn what it meant to be a criminal and how blurry the lines can get between a thief and someone who is just desperate and hungry. It showed that there is more than one way to solve a problem.
