While working today, I took a break and watched a few clips on LinkedIn. I am a follower of a man many of you might know by the name of Simon Sinek. He has conducted several interviews, presented on many topics, and even written a few books (which I will include affiliate links to below) about organizational structure, leadership philosophies, and general social behaviors.
He always seems to know what to say or what answer is best suited to each and every question he is asked. He also asks several questions that people don’t typically ask, but they are the type of insightful that make you wonder whether or not you would ever have thought to ask them yourself.
My favorite part about him is that he never accepts credit or comes off as pompous or boastful. He defers to those he aspires to and is humbled by those he hopes to inspire. The quote he shared in the interview I watched was short, beautiful, and the thing that we all need to take into consideration. Especially applicable in the age of the internet.
“Comparison is the thief of joy.”
-Teddy Roosevelt
