Book 5 of 2023
The Last Star is the conclusion to The 5th Wave book series. I am at a loss for words to be honest. Before I began reading this series, I had high hopes. I was expecting a books series with such good reviews to blow my mind at least a little. Alas, I sit here typing this, underwhelmed. Even the final book failed to capture my imagination and transport me into the literary world the author was trying to create.
The third and final installment of this series had its moments, but I found it to lack excitement, wonder, and imagination. It almost felt a little lazy and I got the feeling that the author had already checked out and just wanted to wash his hands of the series. The character development is all over the place, scenes with the potential for excitement were dull and, at times, difficult to get through, and the ending………….Wow.

I cannot, in good conscience, recommend it. The book covers are impressive, but for me, that is where the good things I have to say end.
